A former Brookfield High School student who was involved in a single-car crash within a week of graduation pleaded guilty Nov. 7 to drunken driving.
Michael A. Isco, 19, who has moved to Florida, was sentenced to 3 days in jail, but can attend a driver’s intervention class instead, said Trumbull County District Court Judge Marty D. Nosich, Brookfield.
Nosich also fined Isco $400, suspended his license for 6 months, and put him on 6 months’ non-reporting probation.
As part of a plea agreement, prosecutors withdrew charges of possession of marijuana and failure to control upon Isco’s agreement that police had probable cause to file them and that he would pay costs.
“It’s a very good resolution for you, sir,” Nosich said.
Isco paid the fine and costs, which totaled $761.
The crash occurred May 28, when the car Isco was driving slammed head-on into a tree along Warren Sharon Road, east of Yankee Run Golf Course, Ohio Highway Patrol said. Isco and two passengers, also teens, were injured and taken to hospitals.
