Sure, it’s a mess now, but there’s a light at the end of the tunnel for residents of the under-construction portion of Bedford Road.
Sometime this month, Kirila Contractors Inc. of Brookfield will mill the old road surface and lay down new asphalt, said Ohio Department of Transportation District 4 spokesman Ray Marsch.
The road between Stewart Sharon Road and Route 62 was torn up in 2018 for a sanitary sewer line extension project. The $2.1 million resurfacing project includes widening the road from 18 to 28 feet, building new curbs and adding storm water drainage.
Striping and permanent pavement markings are likely to be applied in October, Marsch said.
The road is currently one way – northbound – while traffic traveling southbound is detoured.
