The last two months, thanks to the Google News Initiative’s Journalism Emergency Relief Fund, NEWS On the Green has been able to mail copies of our print edition to every household and business in the Brookfield and Masury zip codes, and we hand delivered copies to those who live in Brookfield Township but have Hubbard, Vienna or Fowler mailing addresses.
With the JERF funds, we wanted to make it easier for folks to get the news without having to venture out for it, but also to reach those of you who had not heard of us.
Starting with the January edition, we will be back to our old distribution method – you will have to go out and get your copy at one of our distribution points, unless you subscribe.
We hope that you found NEWS On the Green informative and interesting, and will consider helping us keep going by donating, subscribing or advertising your business or organization. We feel we are performing a community service, but we also are a business and we need proper funding to continue operating. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have lost many advertising opportunities because of the canceling of events that had been advertised in the past, and local businesses pulling back on their advertising because of their own financial concerns.
Thank you to the Google News Initiative for funding this project, and Scott Gee and the Warren Tribune-Chronicle for making it happen.
