Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County has filed a charge of animal cruelty against Brian Clark, who lived on Merwin Chase Road, Brookfield, when the dog was discovered.
Clark’s dog was picked up as a stray and was determined to have been a victim of long-term neglect, said AWL Chief Executive Officer Lori Shandor.
“The dog is doing much better,” she said Dec. 11, although it is expected to have long-term health issues as a result of the neglect.
The charges was filed Dec. 10.
Trumbull County Eastern District Court Judge Marty Nosich has recused himself from the case, citing a potential conflict of interest, and transferred the case to Central District Court. Clark, of Sharon, faces arraignment Feb. 12.
