Ohio Department of Transportation has awarded a contract to Shelly and Sands Inc. of Youngstown to pave Route 82 from Route 62 in Masury west to Route 193 in Vienna, Route 616 in Hubbard Township.
The company’s bid was $5,184,168, the lowest of five submitted. The other bids ranged from $5,917,006 to $7,574,562, and the pre-bid estimate was $6,185,000.
The work will be begin in the spring and is expected to be completed in November, although more specific dates will be set when a pre-construction meeting is held with the contractor, an ODOT spokesman said.
