Trumbull County commissioners have awarded a contract to Kirila Contractors of Brookfield to pave part of Stewart Sharon Road in Brookfield and five other roads elsewhere in the county.
Kirila will pave Stewart Sharon from Broadway Avenue to Route 7, except for the segment around Bedford Road that was paved in 2020 when sanitary sewers were put in, said Trumbull County Deputy Engineer Gary Shaffer.
Kirila’s bid, $1,419,753, was the lowest of three submitted. The engineer’s estimate was $1,391,723.
About 54 percent of the funding is coming from the Ohio Public Works Commission, and the rest from the engineer’s highway fund.
The commissioners awarded the contract April 6.
Shaffer said Kirila is expected to pave Stewart Sharon “after July.”
