Brookfield residents worried about their electric rates going up can still opt in to the township’s electrical aggregation program with AEP Ohio, said Trustee Dan Suttles.
The township trustees entered a three-year contract with AEP that locks in electric rates at 5.3 cents per kilowatt hour. That rate is locked in until April.
There is no cost to opt in or opt out.

Suttles said the trustees are looking into a new contract.
