Ohio Department of Transportation announced Nov. 9 that the restricted crossing U-turn just built at Route 62 and Bedford Road in Masury will open for traffic at 3 p.m. Nov. 10. This will allow traffic on Bedford to again cross Route 62, and for motorists to make left turns from Route 62 to Bedford, or from Bedford to Route 62.

There will be lane restrictions between Bedford Road and Broadway Avenue until late this month to complete the project, which also eliminated the crossover at Route 62 and Broadway. Brookfield Police Chief Dan Faustino said he had requested changes to the signs planned for this stretch of road, and ODOT was considering the request.

ODOT undertook the project to improve safety at the crossovers, which have been the sites of many accidents, some with serious and fatal injuries, in recent years.
