A Masury man who allegedly held a gun to a woman after he had consumed drugs and alcohol has beenĀ  fined and put on probation.

Gary D. Hackett, 58, of 475 Lucy St., pleaded guilty or no contest to charges of disorderly conduct and using weapons while intoxicated Sept. 21 in Trumbull County Eastern District Court.

Prosecutors reduced a charge of assault to disorderly conduct and allowed the dismissal of a charge of obstruction, according to court records.

Judge Marty Nosich fined Hackett $100 and put him on 6 months’ probation.

The victim, a 36-year-old Greenville woman, told Brookfield police Hackett held a .45-caliber handgun to her stomach, hit her in the face and tried to take her purse Aug. 30 at Hackett’s home.

Police were on the scene for about 90 minutes before Hackett gave himself up to authorities, police said.

The woman escaped the home with a knee injury she suffered in a scuffle over her purse, police said.
