Cocca Development said on its website that it plans a mid-year opening for a Dollar Tree store it will build in the 7000 block of Warren Sharon Road, west of Scotty’s Brookfield Express Mart.
The 10,000-square foot building will have one entrance onto and off of the road, and parking on the south and west sides of the building, according to drawings posted on the Cocca website.
The property, currently vacant land, was bought in October by FIDC VII LLC, a company that shares the same address as Boardman-based Cocca. The property was once occupied by a yellow house built in 1871 by Henry Hamilton, an undertaker, coal man and furniture maker who moved to Brookfield from Ireland. The house was razed in 2019.
Cocca has received a storm water discharge permit from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency and permission from Trumbull County to work in its right-of-way to install a storm water catch basin and build a driveway, but has not applied to the county for a building permit.
An email to Cocoa requesting to talk to someone about the project was not returned.
Dollar Tree also owns Family Dollar, which has a store about one half mile to the east on Warren Sharon Road.
