Author Barbara Gregorich stands with the books she has written that she donated to Brookfield schools on Sept. 20. Gregorich is a member of the inaugural class of the Brookfield Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame. The inductees spent Sept. 20 talking to Brookfield students, and will be formally inducted at a luncheon Sept. 21 at the Gentry in Hubbard. Some of the books pictured include “Jack and Larry,” about a Cleveland Indians outfielder and his dog, who became the team mascot; “Brain Quest Workbook”; research notes for her book “Women at Play: The Story of Women in Baseball”; “Charlie Chan’s Poppa: Earl Derr Biggers”; and several “Boxcar Children” stories that she wrote anonymously.
