Brookfield High School honored its spring sports athletes at a banquet May 23.

Girls track

Letter winners were Carly Taylor and Cailey Wellman, juniors; Mya Jumper, Isabella McFarland, Elena Pemberton and Leah Wlodarski, sophomores; and Alex Lapikas and Brooke Montgomery, freshmen.

Cailey also was Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference 1st Team, regional qualifier and district champion in the 300-meter hurdles, the first Brookfield champion in that event. 

Boys track

Letter winners were Donovan Pawlowski and Ryan Tetrick, seniors; Brett Carsone, Aiden Jones and Solomon Williams, juniors; Christian Davis, Preston Hunter and Yaviel Montalvo, sophomores; and David DeJoy, Ryland Mihalcin, Tyler Miller and Ta’Hari Wester, freshmen.

Ryan also was MVAC 2nd Team, regional qualifier, state qualifier and senior scholar athlete for maintaining a grade-point average of at least 3.0.

Brett also was MVAC 1st Team and regional qualifier.

Aiden also was All-County 1st Team in the 100 meters, MVAC 1st Team, regional qualifier and state qualifier. He set the MVAC meet record in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.88.

Christian also was All-County 1st Team in the 200 and 400 meters, MVAC 1st Team, county and MVAC meet most valuable player, regional qualifier and state qualifier. He set the MVAC meet record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.01, and set the school record in the Trumbull County Meet with a time of 49.37. The previous record, 49.8, was set by Jeff Tarver in 1976.

David, Ryland, Tyler and Ta’Hari also were regional qualifiers, and Ta’Hahri was MVAC 1st Team.

Brett, Christian, Donovan and Aiden set a new school record in the 4 by 100-meter relay with their second-place finish in the Trumbull County Meet. Their time, 43.52, bested the time of 43.8 set by J. Poltor, J. Mortimer, J. Hayes and L. Scudere in 2002.

Donovan also was a senior scholar athlete and recipient of the Ohio High School Athletic Association/Northeast District Athletic Board Scholar Athlete Scholarship in the A classification.

Baseball

Letter winners were Elijah Bauder, Connor Heater, Hays Montgomery, Teddy Moody, Tariq Omar and Cole Saloom, seniors; Gavin Marsh and Ian Reichart, juniors; Brandon Hardman, Zac Kikel, Brayden Sangregorio and Hunter Warrender, sophomores; and Braydn Coleman, Braydon DeMaria and Brandon Evans, freshmen.

Hunter and Braydn also were MVAC honorable mention.

Connor, Hays and Tariq were senior scholar athletes.

Softball

Letter winners were Abby DeJoy, Katie Gibson, McKyah Graybill, Sophia Hook, Katie Logan, Latesha Love, Samantha McAnany, Miranda Nicholson, Jenae Pugh and Maddie Thomas, seniors; Jasmine Hubbard, Cadence Huffman and Ariana Jones, juniors; and Rylie Burdge, freshman.

Abby also was All State 2nd Team and MVAC and District 1st Team and a senior scholar athlete. She tied the school record for home runs in a season with 14.

Katie Gibson was MVAC honorable mention and senior scholar athlete.

Sophia was MVAC 1st Team, District honorable mention, a senior scholar athlete and recipient of the OHSAA/NEDAB Scholar Athlete Scholarship in the A classification.

Miranda was MVAC 1st Team, District honorable mention and a senior scholar athlete.

Jenae and Cadence were MVAC 2nd Team, and Jenae was a senior scholar athlete.

Ariana was MVAC and District 1st Team.

McKyah, Samantha, Katie Logan and Maddie were senior scholar athletes.

The team won the regional and sectional championships.

Football

Donovan Pawlowski, Isaiah Jones, A.J. Bartolin and Ryan Tetrick competed in the Jack Arvin Classic All-Star Football Game on June 8, in which Trumbull County all-stars competed against Mahoning County’s best.

Middle school

Eighth- grader Malachi Pinchot was named MVP of the Trumbull County meet for placing first in the 400-meter dash and the long jump and 4th in the 100-meter dash.
