Brookfield Township Trustee Shannon Devitz is planning a Christmas community event called “Jingle Mingle” for 6 p.m. Dec. 9 on the green in Brookfield Center.
Devitz said she has wanted to bring back a holiday event since the COVID-19 pandemic axed “Santa’s Workshop,” a holiday event that had been sponsored by Brookfield United Methodist Church and the township.
“It’s all about the kids,” Devitz said. “It’s about the community getting together.”
The green will be outlined with luminaries, and Mrs. Claus will read stories and lead a singalong, courtesy of the Brookfield Branch Library of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library.
Cookies and hot drinks will be served.
In the case of inclement weather, the event will move into the township administration building, 6844 Strimbu Drive.
