The deadline has passed for members of the Brookfield Police Department to signify their interest in being the next chief, but Trustee Mark Ferrara said he had not been to the office to get a count on how many applied.

Ferrara said at about 5 p.m. Wednesday that he expects he’ll go to the office Thursday.

When asked if he will release the names of the applicants, Ferrara said he will talk to Trustees Shannon Devitz and Dan Suttles about that. A previous board of trustees released the names of applicants after Fire Chief Keith Barrett retired in December 2017.

The trustees are seeking to replace the retiring Dan Faustino, whose contract ends at the end of June.
