Brookfield trustees today interviewed Police Sgt. Aaron Kasiewicz for the police chief’s position.

Police Chief Dan Faustino is retiring when his contract ends at the end of June.

The trustees decided to only accept in-house applicants, and Kasiewicz was the only person to apply.

The trustees interviewed Kasiewicz for less than an hour and then excused him and talked among themselves privately.

The interview and discussion were held in executive session.

Trustee Mark Ferrara said the trustees have “more executive session work to do,” but expect to hire a new chief at their March 4 regular meeting.
