Brookfield Township Fire Department answered 2,221 calls for service in 2023, up from 2,131 calls in 2022. The calls broke down this way, with 2022 numbers in parentheses:

  • Emergency medical, 1,654 (1,660). Medical calls made up 74.5 percent of all calls.
  • Motor vehicle crashes, 100 (98).
  • Structure fires, 53 (63).
  • Vehicle fires, 15 (new statistic for 2023)
  • Other fires, 64 (59).
  • Wires and/or trees down, 191 (100).
  • Fire alarm investigations, 41 (46).
  • Service-related calls, including gas leaks, carbon monoxide and smoke investigations and public assists, 103 (94).
  • Mutual aid calls to other jurisdictions: 190 (217).
  • Mutual aid by other departments into Brookfield, 187 (new for 2023)
  • Hartford runs: 337 (223). Medical calls made up 239 of those runs.

Station 51 in Masury was closed 64 percent of the time because of lack of staffing, up from 39 percent in 2022. When Station 51 is closed, all personnel are assigned to Station 18 on Route 7.
