In 2023, the department responded to 6,703 calls, down from 7,017 calls in 2021. In the following breakdown of the year-end report, 2022 figures are in parentheses.

  • Officers wrote 1,181 (1,223) reports – 1,042 (1,094) incident reports and 139 (129) crash reports.
  • Officers made 428 (448) arrests – 37 (61) were drug-related; 8 were firearms-related (a new statistic in 2023); 41 (19) for theft, burglary or breaking and entering; 58 (35) for assault or domestic violence; 34 for resisting arrest, fleeing or obstruction (a new statistic for 2023); and 90 (70) on warrants. 
  • Officers issued 568 (688) traffic citations – 138 (180) for driving under suspension or without a license; 79 for equipment offenses (a new statistic for 2023); 122 for moving offenses (new for 2023); 20 (29) for operating under the influence of alcohol or drugs; 128 (144) for speeding; and 16 (39) for driving without a seat belt or child restraint.

The department also investigated these reports:

  • Burglary or breaking and entering, 27 (22).
  • Criminal trespass, 60 (new for 2023).
  • Theft, 140 (121).
  • Identity theft, 31 (28).
  • Robbery, 1 (0).
  • Threats, menacing or telephone harassment, 59 (new for 2023).
  • Overdose, 15 (new for 2023).
  • Disturbance or fight, 92 (89).
  • Suspicious activity, 112 (125).
  • Suspicious person, 71 (74).
  • Suspicious vehicle, 150 (125).
  • Service call, 669 (new for 2023).
  • Traffic or parking complaints, 251 (221).
  • Disabled vehicle assists, 141 (163).
  • Animal complaints, 166 (171).
  • Alarm drops, 179 (214).

Members of the department patrolled 140,831 (127,317) miles and used 9,159 (9,358) gallons of gas.
