A Greenville woman who admitted stealing money from the company she once co-owned has been sentenced to probation and hefty restitution requirements.

Amberbee D. Hancock, 42, pleaded guilty Oct. 11 in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court to a charge of theft for stealing from Trinity Recovery Health and Wellness of Brookfield. She also pleaded guilty to a charge of theft Oct. 4 in Mercer County Common Pleas Court for stealing from Trinity’s Sharon location.

Trumbull Judge Cynthia Westcott Rice sentenced Hancock Jan. 8 to 1 year of probation and ordered her to pay $8,942 restitution.

Mercer Judge Ronald Amrhein sentenced Hancock on Nov. 21 to 5 years’ probation and ordered her to pay $60,000 restitution. According to her docket, she has paid $20,050 in restitution so far.

Brookfield police said Hancock wrote checks to herself or to cash between March and June of 2022. Trinity reported the theft to Brookfield police on March 6, 2023.
